Food to Avoid or Reduce in your Diet when you have Acne

I am so sorry about this list of foods you should try to avoid or reduce your intake off in order to improve your acne. It is a tuff one and it has also been tuff for me, it is not fun at all to try to cut down on so many different kinds of food, let me just say the dairy and sugar part has been the ultimate hardest for me. Anyhow without further redo, let´s get into the list.

Avoid or reduce your intake of diary. This includes:

·         Butter (grass fed butter might be okay because of its high vitamin A content)

·         Cheese (cottage, parmesan, mozzarella, cheddar etc.)

·         Frozen Desserts (e.g. ice cream cake)

·         Ice Cream

·         Milk (yeah thi sone makes me sad as well

·         Milk Powder

·         Sour Cream

·         Yogurt (probiotic yogurt might be okay, but for safety one consume a bit)

·         Whey Protein (sorry fitness peope)

Avoid or reduce your intake of foods with high glycemic loads. These include:

·         Bagels

·         White bread (toast)

·         Cookies

·         Bread based cakes  

·         Cereals

·         Instant Oatmeal

·         Pasta

·         Pineapple (thi sone hurts)

·         Pumpkin

·         Popcorn

·         Potatoes (White and Russet)

·         Rice (ugh)

·         Rice Cakes

·         Sodas (Coke, Fanta, Dr. Pepper etc, so cut that soda out and try some flavoured sugar free water, you can even make your own fruit infused water.)

·         Wheat (this is in many foods! Check the ingredient list for this sneaky one)

·         White Flour (e.g. pita bread, white bread, pizza dough, muffins, waffles, pancakes etc.)

·         Watermelon

 

Reduce your intake of foods rich in omega 6 fatty acids. These include:

·         Borage Oil (supplementing with this is good for skin)

·         Barley (sorry beer lovers :/)

·         Cereals

·         Corn

·         Durum Wheat

·         Eggs

·         Millet

·         Oats (nooooooo)

·         Oat Flour

·         Pasta

·         Poultry (Chicken, Turkey, Pork, Ham)

·         Pumpkin Seeds

·         Quinoa (Uncooked)

·         Rye

·         Spelt

·         Vegetable Oils (Soybean Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil, Safflower Oil, Canola oil, Grape Seed Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, Blackcurrant Seed Oil, Hemp Oil, Olive Oil, Corn Oil)

·         Wheat Germ

I will also add to this alcohol should be cut down to a minimum if you want to get rid of your acne. Personally, I never really drink since I do not enjoy the flavor of alcohol and the fact that it makes me breakout, it does that because alcohol is high in sugar and fat, it also causes your skin to get inflamed. You may already have noticed that your skin tents to breakout after a night out, it is not only the fatty fast foods fault, so know when you have alcohol you need to be ready for what it does to your skin the very next day.
