Description

I have for a while now had really really dry under eyes, most likely because I wear contact lenses or maybe a product which should have not been near the eye area sneaked it´s way up there, either way, it has been a struggle, but now my under eyes are back to normal, so I thought I would share some tips on how to get your dry under eyes back to normal.

1.     Avoid harsh products no matter what you do, no chemical exfoliator should get near your under-eye area, don´t let retinol get there either. Also if you are the type of person who uses makeup remover, don´t let it get near your eyes, just start using a double cleanse system, so first, go in with a balm or an oil cleanser, then go in with your normal cleanser, in my case I use a gel cleanser.

2.     Do not stress your eye area! No rubbing under eyes, no touching you’re under eyes, don´t use dirty brushes, no reapplying makeup, we have all done it, but should not do it.

3.     Don´t splash and shower with hot water. Washing of your cleanser with hot water and taking hot showers can strip your skin meaning also your under-eye area of essential oils, instead of using hot water use lukewarm water or cool water.

4.     Layer your eye products, the skin under your eyes is a lot thinner than the skin on the rest of your face, and therefore also more sensitive. What I did was to put a repairing and protection serum, and then after that, I applied eye cream, yeah eye cream can be a waste of money since they just are a moisturizer, however, I still use one, because I found one that is affordable and works well for my under eye area.

5.     Take your supplements! Obviously having a balanced diet is ideal, but we all know sometimes we just can´t be balanced enough, so try taking a vitamin C It can help with repairing your under-eye area and protect against sun damage, take a vitamin E to also protect your skin and help it repair faster. Also, Omega 3 can help with moisturizing, so also try that. But be careful if you have acne or you are acne-prone some omega 3´s can make you break out, but if you find the right one it can also be good for your acne.
